A Day on the River: Lake Roosevelt Forum

This is your opportunity to paddle a 25 foot genuine Birch Bark voyager canoe from St. Paul’s Mission to the confluence of the Kettle River, reminiscent of the old ways in traditional style. This will be a fundraiser to help the students of the Medicine Wheel Academy get onto the Upper Columbia River for their end of school overnight field trip! The day will include: -A presentation and book signing from historian-author Jack Nisbet on his latest book, “The CollectorDavid Douglas and the Natural History of the Northwest.” www.JackNisbet.com -Presentation by the Native Plant Society -Information about Chinook Expeditions www.ChinookExpeditions.com -Booths by China Bend Winery, Greater Columbia River Watertrail, local organic farms, Greenwood Art D’ Institute and much more! -Food, fun, and music -Voyager Canoes! Voyages of Rediscovery will have 3 voyager canoes, each holding 12 people, so there will be a first-come, first-served basis for the two floats. Lunch will be served with a suggested donation of $6-10. Donations will be accepted (to sponsor students for an extended day canoe trip).
